2010 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report
In compliance with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments, Columbus Water & Light is providing its customers with the latest annual water quality report.
This report explains where your water comes from, what it contains, and how it compares to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources standards. We are committed to providing you with information because informed customers are our best allies.
Water Softening
Columbus Water & Light has two water treatment plants to serve our water customers. Because of our source water hardness, all water sent to our customers is softened. As a result, most of our customers do not need their own softener, saving associated costs for installation, maintenance, water and salt.
Cross Connection Inspection
The Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 has charged state and local governments or water utilities with enforcing these standards, protecting the public water supply, and delivering safe drinking water. CWL has been designated by the City of Columbus to do periodic cross connection inspections.
