Environmental Impact of Green Power

Customers of Columbus Water & Light can help the environment by purchasing blocks of green power
The purchase of renewable electricity requires less non-renewable electricity to be produced from sources such as coal, petroleum, natural gas, or nuclear sources. For every block (300 kWh) of electricity produced from renewable rather than non-renewable energy sources, over 517 lbs of CO2 is prevented from being emitted.
